Lemongrass has antiseptic, antibacterial, deodorizing and stimulating properties. Lemongrass essential oil is a stimulating tonic for the skin and excellent for revitalizing and energizing tired bodies and minds. Lemongrass essential oil enlivens the senses and focuses the mind. Lemongrass essential oil is an excellent insect repellent. It has a fresh, lemony-citrus and grass-like aroma.
Is of East Indian origin and is extracted by steam distillation from the fresh and partly dried leaves (grass), this oil is a member of the Poaceae (Gramineae) family and is also known as andropogon citrates, andropogon. schoenathus, cymbopogon citratus and cymbopogon flexuosus.
Lemongrass essential oil blends well with geranium, bergamot, lemon, orange, lime and grapefruit.
Safety: Is non-toxic. It may cause possible dermal irritation and/or sensitization in some individuals.
