Lemongrass essential oil is an excellent insect repellent. It has a fresh, lemony-citrus and grass-like aroma. Lemongrass is of East Indian origin and is extracted by steam distillation from the fresh and partly dried leaves (grass).
Lemongrass is a member of the Poaceae (Gramineae) family and is also known as andropogon citrates, andropogon. schoenathus, cymbopogon citratus and cymbopogon flexuosus.
Lemongrass essential oil blends well with geranium, bergamot, lemon, orange, lime and grapefruit.
