Fennel essential oil originates from italy and is obtained by steam distillation of the ripe fruits of foeniculum vulgare Mill. Fennel oil is a member of the Aniaceae (unbelliferae) family and is also know as F. officinalis, f. capaillaceum, anethum foeniculum and fenkel. Fennel oil blends well with lavender.
Safety: Fennel oil is non-irritant, relatively non-toxic. It is narconic in large doses. Use in moderation. Fennel oil is not to be used by epileptics. Avoid use during pregnancy.
